How to Straighten Hair Extensions

According to stitchnsave.com, when hair extensions were first introduced in the 1900s, they were made for mainly the rich. Today many people across the world wear hair extensions to add length or texture to their hair. There are main two types of hair extensions: natural hair extensions that are made of human hair and synthetic hair extensions that are man-made. Both types of hair extensions can be curled, colored, permed and straightened.

Things You'll Need

• Hair straightener
• Hair brush
• Comb

Instructions

1. Brush your hair extension to get out any tangles. Turn on your straightener.

2. Comb through your hair extension and divide it into one-inch thick sections.

3. Grab one section of hair and place the straightener as close to the top of it as possible.

4. Pull the straightener down to the tip of your hair extension.

5. Continue to straighten the sections of hair until it is straightened to your liking.

6. Turn off your straightener and comb through the hair extension.

Tips & Warnings

• Some hair straighteners do not always get the extension perfectly straight. Simply run the straightener over the extension again.

• Do not set your straightener to more than 107 degrees. It can damage the extension if it's too hot.
