How to Use Hot Sticks Curlers
Hot Sticks are a product sold by Conair for creating curly hair styles. The set contains 14 hot stick curlers in two different sized tubes. The hot stick curlers are flexible tube-like devices that are contained in a central heated base that doubles as a storage unit. They are thinner than traditional curlers and create tighter hair curls. In addition, because of their flexible design they do not require clips to stay in place. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Insert the cord on the curler base into an electrical outlet and close the clear plastic lid. Allow the hot sticks to sit for approximately five minutes. When the hot sticks are heated, the light on the front of the curler base will turn from red to black.
-
2
Open the lid and remove one of the hot sticks. There are two sizes contained in the unit. Use the smaller diameter hot sticks for tighter curls and the larger hot sticks for looser curls.
-
-
3
Grasp a 1/2- to 1-inch-thick section of hair and comb through it to remove any tangles.
-
4
Place the hot stick under the end of your hair so that it is vertical to the hair. Wrap the end around the hot stick and then begin rolling the hot stick upwards until reaching the scalp. The center of the hot stick is the part that contains the heat so hold the ends as you roll.
-
5
Twist the ends of the hot stick upward until they form a loop. Insert the end with the peg on it into the loop contained on the other end of the curler to secure it.
-
6
Add additional hot sticks curlers in the same way until all of your hair is wrapped in curlers. Allow the curlers to remain in the hair for 15 minutes.
-
7
Pull the plug end of each hot stick out of the loop and carefully unroll the hair.
-
8
Finger comb your hair into the desired style.
