How to Make a Mobile for a Baby's Nursery
If you have some extra pairs of baby socks that you don't know what to do with, recycle them into an adorable and practical bird mobile for your baby. It doesn't take long, and friends and family will be astonished at how cute something made out of socks can be. More colorful socks will make a more vibrant mobile, but you can always glue embellishments to white socks to match the color scheme of your baby's nursery.
Things You'll Need
- 5 socks
- Fiberfill purchased from craft store
- Thread
- Permanent marker
- Felt triangles
- Craft glue
- Scissors
- 3 yards of ribbon
- Embroidery needle
- Six inch embroidery hoop

Fill each sock up to the ankle with the fiberfill stuffing.

Tie a piece of thread an inch from the toe's end to form the bird's head, and tie another thread around the ankle band (about half an inch down) to make a bird's tail.

Draw a couple of eyes on each bird with a permanent marker and glue on a felt triangle for a beak.

Cut the ribbon different lengths and use the embroidery thread and needle to attach the socks to the ribbon, and loop the ribbons around the embroidery hoop and tie them on. You can attach the ribbons to the hoop with a bit of craft glue.

Cut the rest of the ribbon into three pieces and use these pieces to hang the mobile.
