How to Check an IRS Refund Check

If you are expecting a refund from your federal tax return, you can monitor the status of your refund processing from the IRS Website. Within 72 hours of the electronic filing acceptance or 3 to 4 weeks for a mailed return, the status of your return will be available in the IRS database. Once you know when your return has been processed, you can better plan for your anticipated refund date.
