How to Draw a Love Flower
The love flower or pastel flower, or Pseuderanthemum variabile, is a type of flowering herb with a five-petal blossom. Blossoms may be white, lavender, mauve or purple or blue in color. These flowers can be found in Australia, blooming from December through May. Love flowers are easy subject matter for inexperienced artists because of their simple shapes.
Instructions
-
-
1
Draw a petal. This petal will be the shape of an almond.
-
2
Draw another petal, of the same shape and size, stemming from the base of the first petal, but pointing in the opposite direction.
-
-
3
Draw a petal in between the two petals you just drew. This petal will stem from the same point that the first two petals came from.
-
4
Draw a fourth petal opposite the petal that you drew in step 3, stemming from the same location as the last three petals.
-
5
Draw a fifth petal just to the right of the petal you drew in step 4, stemming from the same spot as the other four petals.
-
6
Draw a few spots, very small and placed close together, near the center of the flower on one of the petals.
-
7
Draw two parallel lines coming out of the bottom of the flower. These lines will be coming from the direction of the bottom center of the flower, so that if they kept going, they would hit the center of the blossom. This is the stem. The stem should be about twice as long as one of the petals.
-
8
Draw a heart-shaped leaf at the bottom of the stem. This leaf will be twice as long as the stem and narrow.

Tips & Warnings
Shade the leaf or other areas of the flower as desired. This type of flower is very delicate, so shade it carefully and avoid shading any part of it too dark.
