How to Get Australian Working Visa for Indians
Working in a different country can be a gateway to being submerged into a new culture and society. For international travelers from India, travel consists of providing the appropriate documentation and paperwork to obtain the appropriate visas. Australia requires that any person traveling from India for purposes of business, tourism or study are required to obtain an Australian before they are allowed to enter the country.

Obtain a valid national passport. A valid national passport is a passport that has been issued by the visa applicant's country of citizenship. It will have at least one full blank page inside of it (for the appropriate visa certification stamps), and be valid for at least six months after the visa applicant's intended date of departure from Australia.

Obtain a position in Australia with an employer who is willing to sponsor your stay in Australia. They will have to complete a series of steps with the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship. You will also have to provide a copy of your work contract to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to prove that you are employed by this Australian employer. Your employer will have to complete the Form 1196S and file it with the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.

Be nominated by your employer. Your Australian employer will have to nominate you to come and work in Australia. Your employer will have to complete Form 1196N before Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship can process your visa application.

Complete the appropriate application. The applications can be downloaded from the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship website. The application that you will be required to complete is the Form 1066 Application for Subclass 457. The PDF file is 19 pages long and it will ask questions regarding your citizenship information, passport information, information regarding any dependants that may travel with you, and information regarding your past employment and educational history.

Obtain a health clearance. You will need the appropriate medical clearance with a certified Indian physician before you will be granted a working visa for Australia.

Obtain a penal clearance. Provide evidence that you meet the penal requirements. In most cases, this will be a police report from your local police station.

Obtain all additional documentation. You will have to provide documentation that states that you are qualified for the position that you have. These qualifications can be shown through your educational history (in the form of transcripts) or work history.

Submit the application and all additional documentation and pay the visa application fee. The application package and the visa fee can be submitted at your nearest embassy/ consulate in India. Officials will be able to process the application package and notify you if you have received your visa.
