How to Refer a Friend on Facebook

If you use Facebook to update people on your life and to keep up with friends, you may want to refer a friend to Facebook. Facebook has a page where you can refer friends to Facebook by sending them invitations. When you send an invitation through Facebook, Facebook e-mails your friend with a link directing them to create a Facebook account.

Instructions

1. Sign in to your Facebook account and click the "Account" tab from the menu at the top right of the page.

2. Select "Edit Friends" from the sub-menu that opens under the Account tab. You can search for friends and invite friends to join Facebook here.

3. Click the "Invite Friends" link located at the bottom of the menu at the left of the page. A new page will open that asks for your friends' e-mail addresses.

4. Enter the e-mail addresses of friends you want to refer to Facebook in the box next to "To." Make sure to add a comma after each e-mail address to separate the addresses.

5. Type a message in the box next to "Message." This is optional, but you may want to add a personal note telling your friends how much you enjoy Facebook here.

6. Click "Invite" to send the Facebook invitations to your friends.
