How to Remove Bulbs From Tanning Bed Sunvisions 24S

The Sunvision 24S offers the convenience of tanning indoors through the use of a number of bulbs that produce ultraviolet light. Each bulb's effectiveness diminishes over time and must therefore be periodically replaced, typically after 800 to 1,000 hours of use. The 24S features different bulbs for the main cavity and for the face-tanning section. Each bulb type has its own removal procedure. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

  1. Removing Main Cavity Bulbs

    • 1

Grasp one end of a bulb with one hand.

    • 2

Grasp the middle of that same bulb with the other hand.

    • 3

Twist the bulb 1/4 of a turn until the bulb detaches from its housing, then pull the bulb away from the bed.

    Removing Face-Tanning Bulbs

    • 4

Hold the acrylic shield that covers the face-tanning bulbs to prevent the risk of the shield inadvertently falling out of the bed.

    • 5

Pull the two hinged profiles off of the side of the acrylic shield. The profiles run along the length of the tanning bed.

    • 6

Slide the acrylic shield out of the hinge profiles to expose the face-tanning bulb assembly.

    • 7

Remove the face-tanning bulb assembly's two retaining screws with a screwdriver and allow the assembly to swing down to expose the bulbs.

    • 8

Push each bulb towards one end of the lamp and pull the bulb out of the assembly. Each bulb is secured in place with a spring located at each end of the bulb. Pushing the bulb into either spring will compress the spring and release the bulb.
