How to Apply Mineral Powder Makeup

Things You'll Need
- Headband
- Cleanser
- Towel
- Moisturizer
- Concealer
- Mineral powder
- Kabuki brush

Pull your hair back from your face with a headband.

Wet your face with warm water. Cleanse your face with a gentle cleansing gel or cream. Rinse your face with warm water. Pat your skin dry with a clean towel.

Moisturize your face with an oil-free lotion. Rub the moisturizer into your skin. Moisturized skin absorbs this type of makeup better than skin with no moisture.

Allow the moisture to be fully absorbed before you apply the powder. Two minutes should be long enough for drying time.

Apply concealer to your blemishes to hide imperfections. Dab the concealer onto your fingertip. Touch the tips of your fingers to the blemish, then pat gently to blend.

Turn the mineral powder upside down with the lid on it. Unscrew the lid while holding the container upside down. Turn the container right-side up before you remove the lid.

Swirl your Kabuki brush in the powder.

Tap the handle of the brush across the inside of your wrist to get shake off the excess powder.

Touch your forehead with the brush and swirl on the makeup. Start at the top of your face and work down, reapplying makeup to the brush bristles, as you need it. Putting on makeup from top to bottom will diminish the appearance of wrinkles accentuated by excessive powder. Start with a thin layer. Apply more where you desire additional coverage.

Blend in the makeup around your neck area for a smoother look.
