How to Upload Multiple Files

When you download a file, you are taking a file that is "up" on the Internet, "down" into your computer. Conversely, when you upload a file, you take a file that is down on your computer up to the Internet. Uploading happens in various ways. For example, attaching a file to an email means uploading the file up to the email provider's website. Most websites that allow for uploads, allow for multiple files to be uploaded at the same time.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to the website where you are going to be uploading a file. For example, the website can be a social networking website where you'll upload a picture or an email provider where you will be attaching a file to an email.

    • 2

Click the "Upload file" or "Choose file" button. Each website will have a button that is labeled differently but the previous two options are the most common.

    • 3

Browse through your computer for the file you wish to upload, click on the file to select it, and click "Open" to tell the uploading tool know that file needs to be uploaded. Repeat this process with as many files as you wish to upload along with the first file.

    • 4

Click the "Upload" button. Note that some websites may not require this step. For example, if you are attaching files to an email, you will not need to click an additional button--once you click "Open" the file will begin to get uploaded automatically. Other websites may have a different button to upload all the files at the same time. For example, if you are creating a different type of file (converting) using the files you're uploading, you may have to click a button labeled "Create file" for all the selected files to be uploaded and converted.
