How to Design a Decal Online

Customize your own decal.

Decals have a variety of uses -- from adding your home business information to the back windshield of your car to displaying the logo of your favorite musical band or sports team. One way to create a custom decal for your personal use is to design one online, using one of the many websites to design your decal, pay for it conveniently and then have it shipped right to your front door.

Direct Decals

1. Visit the Direct Decals website. (See references.) Choose the specific logo you want to create your decal or browse through the library to determine which decal you like. For example, go to "city icons" and press "go."

2. Look through the decal styles. For this example, choose the "New York Skyline." Select the color you want the decal from the pull-down menu on the right side of the wizard. Change the width and height to your specifications and enter the quantity of decals you want.

3. Preview your decal on a variety of backgrounds to determine the die-cut shaping of the decal. Press "continue" when you are finished. Enter your personal billing information at the "checkout."

Custom Online Signs

1. Visit the Custom Online Signs website. (See references.) Choose the style of decal you like from the provided options: window decal, bumper sticker, vinyl letters or custom stickers. For this example, choose "window decal."

2. Enter the width and size you want the decal to be, and hit "customize it." Use the design tool to add clip art, text or upload your own image for the decal. Move the objects around on the design tool until you get your desired decal design.

3. Hit "add to cart" and proceed with entering billing information after pressing the "checkout" button.

Graph X Online

1. Visit the Graph X Online website. (See references.) Create your logo for a decal by entering text into the provided box. Customize the decal by selecting text color and font style and specify the height and width for the decal logo.

2. Select the quantity of decals you want and press "continue."

3. Enter your personal billing information at the checkout.
