Yellow is great for daycare rooms because it is cheerful and vibrant. Paint the walls of the daycare room in bright colors, such as yellow. Decorate the room in bright, vibrant colors, but stick with primary colors so that children can identify them.
-
2
Divide areas of the daycare room into type of activity, such as dress-up and crafts. Use small bookshelves or room dividers to divide sections of the room.

3
Plastic baskets can be substituted for storage container bins. Provide ample storage space for children's toys. Use small bookshelves for storage and place small plastic bins on the shelves to make makeshift drawers. Label the bins by type of toy.
-
4
Separate toys in the bins by type or size so that they can be easily found. This will also help for cleanup purposes because the children can find where toys go based on their type of bin.
-
5
Place a kid-size table with chairs in the room where kids can sit and do crafts.
-
6
Keep sharp objects and poisons, such as craft scissors and cleaning products, in high places children can't reach, or out of the room altogether.
-
7
Cover electrical outlets with plastic outlet covers to protect children from electrical shock.
