Using non-stick skillets with smooth bottom surfaces will help prevent scratching to the glass surface. Slice a lemon in half. Sprinkle baking soda onto the glass top stove surface. Use the lemon as a scrubbing sponge, using the flat, raw lemon against the glass. Rub it around in the baking soda to scrub the stove. Use circular motions, pressing the lemon into the baking soda until the surface is clean.

Tips & Warnings
Making a paste of lemon juice and baking soda and applying it to baked on food, then laying a warm, wet cloth over the paste and letting it sit for about twenty minutes, is an effective way to help loosen the food. After loosening, scrub the paste with a lemon or wet cloth. For especially stuck on foods, try sprinkling a bit of table salt in the baking soda/lemon juice paste before scrubbing.
There are scrapers specifically for glass top stove cleaning. Investing in one is a good idea, especially for big spills.
Wait for stove to cool before applying the vinegar and water spray mixture.
