Instructions
-
-
1
Cut out two 20x20-inch squares of your pillow fabric and two 15x15-inch squares out of your lining fabric.
-
2
Take the pleat tape and cut eight 20-inch lengths. Pin a length of pleat tape to the wrong side on all four sides of each 20-inch pillow fabric square.
-
-
3
Work with one side at a time and pull the strings of the pleat tape to form the pleats. Use the lining fabric as a guide to make sure each side of your pillow measures 15 inches. Tie off the ends of the strings to temporarily hold the pleats in place.
-
4
Iron the pleats to help hold them in place. Stitch across the pleats at the very edge of the square to make them permanent.
-
5
Repeat Steps 3 and 4 on the remaining sides of both squares of the pillow fabric.
-
6
Trim the strings from the pleat tapes.
-
7
Lay one square of the lining fabric on your work surface and set one square of the pillow fabric on top with the pleats facing up. Stitch around the edges of the square to hold them together. Repeat with the other two squares.
-
8
Put the squares together with the pleated sides facing each other and pin around three sides of the pillow.
-
9
Sew around the three pinned sides. Trim the corners and any excess fabric to prevent bulkiness.
-
10
Turn the pillow right side out, taking care that the corners are pointy. Insert your pillow form into the pillow covering.
-
11
Fold the raw edges inside the pillow a half inch and pin in place. Make sure not to fold too much so that you loose the pleats. Sew across the top edge of the pillow to completely enclose the pillow form.
