How to Clean Burned Carpet
The trick to cleaning a burned carpet is removing the scorched fibers. It may seem unlikely that your carpet will ever burn, but a simple dropped cigarette or bumped candle can leave an unsightly burn mark on the floor. Sand the scorch marks with a light sandpaper. Clean the debris with a vacuum.

Cut away the burnt carpet fibers with a razor. Alternatively, you can use scissors or a knife.

Spray the area with carpet cleaner to eliminate any stains from the burn.

Shave a handful of fibers off the carpet from a hidden section of carpet (under the couch, for example). Using carpet cement, glue the shaved carpet fibers to the floor in the burnt area. This is only necessary if the burn was severe enough to burn a hole completely through the carpet.

Tips & Warnings
Use an iron and a brown paper bag to remove any wax that may have spilled from a candle. Place the paper bag over the burn/wax and iron, using a low heat. This will melt and remove the wax stuck to the carpet fibers.
