How to Track Delta Flights
Whether you're planning to pick up a friend at the airport or wondering if you can hit the snooze button a few more times before leaving to catch your early-morning flight, you may want to know whether a flight is leaving or arriving on time. Delta allows you to track flights either online or by phone. In just a few minutes, you can find out the current status of a Delta flight along with its estimated or actual arrival and departure times.

Open your preferred internet browser and direct it to www.delta.com.

Scroll down (if necessary) and find the "Flight Status" box in the lower left corner of the page.

Enter the flight number for the relevant flight if you know it. If not, enter the departure and arrival airports.

Select the date of the relevant flight. Your options here are limited to today, yesterday and tomorrow.

Click "Go." If you entered the departure and arrival airports, you will arrive at a screen where you can select from all matching flights. For example, if you have searched for flights from Boston to San Francisco, there will most likely be more than one; you will be able to select the relevant flight on this page. This will take you to the same page you will reach after clicking "Go" if you entered the flight number. Here you will be able to view the status of the flight (such as "Arrived" or "Boarding") as well as view scheduled, estimated and actual departure and arrival times.

Say either the flight number or the departure city. If you choose to search for the flight by departure city, the voice prompt will ask you to provide an arrival city.

Say either "arrival" or "departure" when the voice prompt asks you whether you're interested in arrival or departure information.

Say either "yes" or "no" when the system asks whether you're interested in information about today. If you say no, the system will ask you to say either "yesterday" or "tomorrow" or to provide a day and month. If you searched by departure city rather than flight number, the voice prompts will ask for a time of arrival or departure. Once you have provided this information, you will hear all available information on the flight's status.

Tips & Warnings
Delta offers a flight notification system which can provide you with updates either on a specific flight or on all your upcoming flights. To use this system, click the "Flight Notifications" link in the "Flight Status" box on Delta's homepage and follow the instructions.
