How to Turn Javascript Off in IE8

JavaScript is a type of scripting language needed to access certain websites on the Internet. JavaScript is enabled by default on the Internet Explorer 8 Web browser, and you can easily disable it at any time using the Internet Options feature. You may need to turn off JavaScript in order to access local files, which the language standard can sometimes restrict on your computer. Before you turn off JavaScript for Internet Explorer 8 you should make sure that you have administrator privileges for your computer.

Instructions

1. Launch Internet Explorer 8 on your computer and then click on the “Tools” option from the top toolbar menu.

2. Select the “Internet Options” button. The Internet Options dialog box will appear on your screen. Click the “Security” tab.

3. Click the “Custom Level” option. The Custom Level page will appear.

4. Scroll down through the “Settings” section and select the “Disable” radio button from “Active scripting” heading.

5. Click the “OK” button to save your changes and complete the task.
