How to Crochet Nylon Net Scrubbers

The next time you need a nylon scrubber, crochet one for yourself.

Crochet is a versatile craft form that allows you to make almost anything from home decor to clothing to toys. Use your crochet skills in a functional way and make crochet nylon net scrubbers. Use them to scrub your body and exfoliate dry skin or use them to scrub those stubborn food stains off your dishes. Nylon net scrubbers make a nice addition to a gift, and you can crochet one in an hour or less.

Things You'll Need

• Nylon netting
• Scissors
• Crochet hook size US K
• Large eye blunt needle

Instructions

1. Hold the nylon netting as you would hold yarn. It should come in a roll that is approximately 1 inch wide. If not, cut your netting into 1-inch-wide strips first. Knot strips together on the ends as you run out of one strip and need to join another.

2. Make five chain stitches and join with a slip stitch to form a circle. You will crochet the next round of stitches into this circle to make a round scrubber.

3. Chain three; this counts as a double crochet stitch. Make nine more double crochet stitches into the circle and join with a slip stitch into the top of your initial three chain stitches. Now you have a total of 10 double crochet stitches.

4. Chain three and make one double crochet in the base of the starting chain, then make two double crochets in every stitch around. Join with a slip stitch and fasten off. Cut your working nylon, leaving a 4-inch tail, and weave in the loose ends with a large eye blunt needle.

Tips & Warnings

• For a double-thick scrubber, crochet two of these and sew them together.

• Instead of nylon netting, use bolts of tulle fabric from the craft store or recycle an old bath scrubber that has come unraveled.
