How to Fix a Single Handle Delta Kitchen Faucet
One of the more common kitchen faucets is the Delta brand single-handled faucet. These faucets work on a simple principle. A small ball controls the flow of water, and it sits on a series of washers, or seals. These seals break down over time and need to be replaced. This is the cause of almost all leaks with this type of faucet. Luckily, the fix is quite simple with the right tools and a little know-how. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need

1
Locate the shutoff valve for the sink. You can usually find it directly under the sink. If not, you may need to use the main shut off valve for the floor or house. Turn the valve off, then turn the sink faucet on to drain the line before beginning the repair.

2
Remove the holding screw. Locate the plastic cap in the center of the handle and pry it off with the edge of a flat head screwdriver. Underneath you will find the holding screw. Remove this screw and pull the handle up and off of the faucet assembly.

3
Take off the bonnet nut. The bonnet nut is the nut encircling the faucet valve. Use an adjustable wrench and twist to the left to remove.
-
4
Access the rubber seals. On top of the seals is a white plastic cam that can be pulled off. You should then see the first rubber washer/seal. Pry it out, using the screwdriver if necessary. Then take out the ball and the remaining seals under the ball. The lower seals will have springs attached, which will come out as well. Discard seals and springs.

5
Insert replacement seals. In the Delta repair pack you will find a replacement spring and seals. Slide a spring onto each seal and reassemble the faucet. Insert seal, metal ball and top seal. Cover with the white plastic cam.

6
Reattach the bonnet nut, tightening it with the wrench. Then replace the handle, securing it with the holding screw and plastic cap. Make sure the handle is in the "Off" position.
-
7
Turn the water back on at the shut-off valve and turn faucet on to test.
