How to Make a Bootable Windows XP CD From Autorun

"Autorun" is a feature in Windows XP that automatically plays the contents of a particular CD or DVD disc after inserting into your computer. If you want to make a CD bootable (that is, to ensure that it will run upon insertion into your CD drive), you'll need to manually turn on this feature using the disc management properties box of your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive in the Windows XP operating system.

Instructions

1. Insert your CD into your CD or DVD drive.

2. Click "Start."

3. Click "My Computer."

4. Right-click on your CD or DVD drive's icon.

5. Click "Properties."

6. Check "Autorun."

7. Click "OK." Your CD is now bootable and will open automatically in Windows XP.
