How to Convert Canadian Money to United States Money
Canada uses a monetary system that is distinct from that of the United States. In recent years, however, the exchange rates between the countries have nearly equalized, with one Canadian dollar roughly equaling an American dollar. Still, the exchange rate fluctuates every day.

Exchange rates can be found in newspapers as well as online. Obtain the latest exchange rate. You can likely find it in the business section of your newspaper, or you can consult a website (see Resources) for the latest figure.
-
2
Multiply the amount of Canadian dollars you want to convert by the current exchange rate. For example, if you wanted to convert $100 CAD into U.S. dollars (USD) and the exchange rate was .96, you would multiple $100 by .96.

-
3
Change the units from CAD to USD. You've now converted between Canadian and American dollars. In the example, your converted amount would be $96 USD.
