Instructions

-
1
Open Photoshop, pull down the File menu and click Open. Browse to a photo you want to turn black and white and double-click the file name so it opens in the Photoshop workspace.
-
2
Pull down the Image menu at the top of the screen, click Mode and select Grayscale. Click OK at the color discard warning window. The photo changes to black and white.
-
-
3
Click the Zoom tool, which looks like a magnifying glass, on the Tools palette on the left side of the screen. Zoom in on one of the eyeballs in the photo so it is large on the screen.
-
4
Click the Lasso tool on the Tools palette and draw an outline around just the eye. When the blinking dotted lines appear, right-click them and select Layer via Copy. Nothing much seems to change on the picture, but if you look over at the Layers palette on the right side of the screen, you'll see a new Layer 1.
-
5
Pull down the Image menu, click Mode and select CMYK Color.
-
6
Click the top left square of the Color Picker, which is the two overlapping colored boxes on the Tools palette. Select a green hue from the color rainbow and click OK.
-
7
Click the Paint Bucket tool and click inside the eye, which fills with the green color.
-
8
Click back to the Background layer on the Layers palette. Repeat the Lasso process on the other eye, using Layer via Copy and changing it through the Image, Mode and CMYK Color options.
-
9
Click the Paint Bucket tool inside the other eyeball and the same paint color is transferred in. For a different shade of green in each eye, change the paint color in the Color Picker before using the Paint Bucket.
-
10
Save the file by clicking File and Save As. Rename the file; never save directly on top of the original in case you want to access it again.
