A SATA cable will connect the console's DVD drive to your computer so you can "mod" your Xbox 360.

Xbox 360 consoles are manufactured by Microsoft and can be modified to play homemade or archival back-up copies of game DVD discs. These "mods" are easy and free to do, requiring only a software application and tools to open the Xbox 360 console's case. Modding your Xbox console requires only about an hour of your time. It will require you to download a BIN flashing program onto the hard drive of your computer.

Open your 360 console and read the guide included in the References section. This consists of unhinging the plastic cover from the Xbox 360's metal case and then unscrewing several Torx size 7 screws with a Torx screwdriver. Disconnect your Xbox 360 DVD drive from the console and plug in your SATA cable from your computer to the console's DVD drive. Doing this allows you to modify or "flash" BIN files from your PC to the Xbox.

The JungleFlasher application will create an altered/edited BIN file for copying or "flashing" from your computer to the console's DVD drive. Choose the BIN file you wish to "flash" to your Xbox's DVD drive and select "OK." JungleFlasher will copy your modified BIN file to the console's DVD drive. Replace any screws and reassemble all internal components before powering the Xbox 360 machine on.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not run additional applications or any system tasks on your PC while JungleFlasher reads or modifies your Xbox 360's BIN file. Intensive computing tasks decrease your computer's performance and could possibly result in hardware errors in the Xbox 360 console's DVD drive.
