Instructions

1. Choose one item from which to build your safari bedroom. It could be the colors and patterns in an animal-print candle, a photo from a safari vacation, or a postcard of a place you would like to go.

2. Paint the walls in a sandy desert tan or vibrant color found in an Amazon jungle to set the stage for your safari theme. If you are using a photo of a landscape for inspiration, duplicate the image in a wall mural .

3. Choose natural wood furniture for your bed, tables and storage pieces. A wood chest at the foot of the best provides decoration and storage. Bamboo, teak and wicker work well in safari-themed bedrooms.

4. Place live or silk plants and trees around your bedroom to achieve the look of the jungle. Wrap silk ivy around bed posts and curtain rods.

5. Hang framed photos and prints of jungle or desert landscapes. Accessorize with maps, safari hats and old luggage.

6. Place animal-print rugs on the floor. Hang a mosquito net above your bed. Use a brown suede or animal-print bed covering. Place a stuffed jungle animal on your bed. Arrange animal-print candles on your night stand.
