How to Write iPhone Applications
Most people have an idea of something they wish their Apple iPhone could do. With the iPhone SDK and the iPhone Developer Program, people can create a program to make their iPhone do what they want it to. Once you have an idea, and with the help and encouragement of your friends, it is possible for anyone to design an iPhone app that people around the world can download and use on their own personal iPhones.

1
Outline your idea. Before you can ever get started on a project, you need to both define what the finished product will look like, and how you will get from the starting point to the finished product. Take plenty of time to think about the things you want to include in your app, and always keep a pen and paper with you to write down additional ideas. Once you have your end product successfully pictured, figure out the steps necessary to get from the idea to the finished product, and write them all down.

2
Pitch it to your friends. Your friends can be a great source of ideas, and can also help you avoid potential pitfalls. Pitch it to your friends and make sure that they don't just pat you on the back. You need to know if any or all of it is a bad idea, or if there's something you missed on your checklist. Also, your friends can be a great source of additional ideas and inspiration.

Design the app with the iPhone SDK. If you don't have a Mac, you will need to get one. Sign up for the iPhone Developer's Program and download the iPhone SDK from the Apple website. Use the tools provided to begin the construction of your application.

Present it to your friends. Once you have a working model, you should go back to your friends to see what they think. Ask their opinion about everything from how it looks to how it works. Get their advice on improvements that can be made or things they think should be added.

5
Make any necessary changes that need to be made to your application and submit it to the App Store for approval. Keep in mind that the App Store can take a while to get back to you, and your application may not be accepted. If it isn't, feel free to continue to make improvements and try again.
