How to Unclog a Freezer Drain

Stop condensation build up in your freezer by keeping the drain unclogged.

It is important to properly maintain your freezer to keep it running well and your food cold. Self-defrosting freezer have drains that prevent condensation buildup inside the freezer. A clogged drain will be apparent through frost build up on the inside of your freezer. There is a simple way to unclog the drain and stop frost build up.

Things You'll Need

• Stiff Wire
• Meat Baster
• Hot Water
• Soap

Instructions

1. Locate the freezer drain at the bottom of the freezer.

2. Insert a piece of stiff wire to force out the clog.

3. Flush out the drain with hot water from a meat baster. This will shoot the water through the drain to flush out any leftover debris.

4. Wash out the drain pain, located below the freezer drain, with warm soapy water.
