How to Train to Become a Dental Nurse

Dental nurses require high school education.

A high school diploma is the only requirement to become a dental nurse. Dental nurses are trained by the dentist for whom they work. In England, dental nurses are encouraged to obtain a General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) when they have started training and working.

Instructions

1. Take high school courses in biology, chemistry and health. These courses are not required to become a dental nurse, but the knowledge increases your chances of being hired.

2. Graduate from high school. A high school diploma or its equivalency is the the only educational requirement.

3. Apply to work and train as a dental nurse. Training as a dental nurse comes from on-the-job experience. Dental nurses learn to assist the dentists in all aspects, such as preparing instruments and mixing materials, ensuring the patient's comfort, taking notes for the dentist's record, cleaning the surgery room and sterilizing surgical instruments.
