Figure out your yearly income using a salary calculator

The best way to calculate your yearly income after tax is to use an online salary calculator. This tool will let you plug in your information and figure out for you the total amount of income that you have generated throughout the year after taxes have been taken out. This can be a great tool to use for people who don't get paid hourly or people who are independent contractors.

Instructions

    • 1

Access the Salary Calculator, an online income calculator updated with this year's Income Tax and Social Security information.

    • 2

Enter your current hourly wage in the first box. If you get paid on a project-by-project basis and not hourly, then come as close as you can to figuring out an hourly wage by dividing the total amount of your net pay by the number of hours worked.

    • 3

Enter the number of hours worked per week during the year into the second box. To get this number, divide your total number of hours worked into the number of weeks worked during the year. It's okay if the number has a decimal.

    • 4

Click on the box labeled "Status:" to enable a drop-down menu. Choose the one that most closely resembles your current living status.

    • 5

Click the box labeled "No. Dependents" to make note of any dependents. Do not include yourself or your spouse as a dependent.

    • 6

Enter an amount in the final box labeled "Other Monthly Deductions." This is any significant and recurring reduction from your income that would affect the total.

    • 7

Click the "Go!" button to view your results. The results will be input into the table located on the right side of the "Go!" button. The table will show yearly, monthly, weekly and daily values for gross income, taxable income, social security and federal and state taxes. There is also a section that calculates the take home pay, as well.
