How to Fix a Leaking GE Nautilus Dishwasher

GE Nautilus dishwashers come in a variety of models. Each model has specific features and settings. Most issues related to a leaking dishwasher have causes that are applicable to all GE Nautilus dishwasher models. To properly diagnose and repair a leaking Nautilus dishwasher, perform troubleshooting steps to determine the source of the water leak. Once the cause of the leak has been found, steps can be taken to fix the problem. In many cases, the leaking dishwasher can be repaired by the owner.

1. Check the air gap for clogs, if equipped. The air gap is located on the sink next to the faucet. Lift the cover off the air gap. Remove any debris or foreign material. Replace the cover.

2. Clear the garbage disposer, if one is connected to the dishwasher. Run the garbage disposer until it is completely clear.

3. Make sure the plug was removed from the garbage disposer inlet. Garbage disposers with dishwasher inlets are capped with a plug when they are new.

4. Check the drain hose for kinks or clogs. Straighten the house out. Remove any blockage.

5. Make sure the dishwasher door is completely latched. A slightly open door will allow water to leak from the machine.

6. Check the kitchen sink for proper drainage. If the kitchen sink is not properly draining, it may be necessary to contact a plumber to repair it.
