How Do I Pay My Bill by Phone?
You can pay a bill by phone when you speak to a customer service representative or use an automated system. Some companies charge a small fee for telephone payments. You must have a debit or credit card to use this service, although some companies and utilities will accept a check over the phone.

Check your bill statement for the customer service number. Call the number and listen to the greeting and directions. Select an automated payment option if available.

2
Use the keypad on your phone to enter your account number or other personal identification number that the company recognizes. Most billers will accept your telephone number as identification. The automated voice may repeat the numbers you entered for verification. Follow the directions to verify that it is correct or to enter the number again.

Enter your credit or debit card number or check routing number. You may also be asked to provide expiration dates and security numbers for your credit or debit card. If you are paying with a check, you can find the routing number within the long series of numbers at the bottom of the check. The first group of nine numbers, from the left, is the routing number and the second group of numbers is your account number. The check number is usually at the upper right corner of the check. The service will process your payment and give you a confirmation number. Write this number down.

Choose to speak with a service representative if you prefer live assistance. The payment process is similar but the advantage is the agent can address any questions or concerns you may have.
