How to Install a Microsoft Office 2007 Upgrade
Office is a popular suite of productivity software created and distributed by Microsoft. Used in business, government and educational organizations around the world, Office includes such widely-used programs as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access and Publisher. Microsoft periodically updates the Office suite, adding new programs and improving the functionality and features of existing applications. Thanks to the step-by-step instructions of its installer program, upgrading to Office 2007 from an earlier edition of the program is a straightforward task for users of all skill levels.

Insert the Office 2007 installation CD into your disc drive.

Enter the 25-character product key associated with Office 2007 in the corresponding field and click "Continue." Find this number on a sticker attached to the back of the installation disc case.

Check the box labeled "I accept the terms of this agreement" and click "Continue."

Click the "Customize" button.

Select "Remove all previous versions" to remove all of your existing Office programs. Select "Keep all previous versions" to leave them as-is. Remove only specific programs by choosing "Remove only the following applications" and checking the box next to the name of each application you want to delete.

Select the "Installation Options" tab.

Click the drop-down menu next to the "Microsoft Office" item at the top of the window and select "Run all from My Computer."

Select the "User Information" tab.

Enter your name, your initials and the name of your organization in the corresponding fields.

Click the "Upgrade" or "Install Now" button to start the installation process. The process generally takes 15 to 30 minutes.

Click "Close" after installation completes to close the setup program.

Open any Microsoft Office program.

Select "I want to activate the software over the Internet" and click "Next."

Click "Close" once the activation process completes. Your upgraded Office 2007 programs are ready to use.

Tips & Warnings
If the Office 2007 installer program does not start automatically after inserting the CD, double-click the "Computer" or "My Computer" icon on your desktop, right-click the icon representing your CD drive, select "Open," and then double-click the program icon labeled "setup."
