ActiveX controls allows some web pages to display better.

ActiveX software is a small computer program that is used in the development of Web pages. In order to properly install and display ActiveX elements on certain pages that support this technology, you will have to specifically tell the Internet Explorer Web browser that you want any available ActiveX controls to be automatically downloaded and installed. This can be done by making a few quick adjustments to the options of your Web browser.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Internet Explorer Web browser.

    • 2

      Click Tools.

    • 3

      Click Options.

    • 4

      Click Security.

    • 5

      Click Custom Level.

    • 6

Select the Enabled option next to the Run ActiveX Controls and Plugins menu item.

    • 7

Click OK. Now whenever you visit a website that contains ActiveX software, that software will automatically be downloaded to your computer for use by Internet Explorer.
