EBay is an auction website that allows users to buy and sell various goods and services within the eBay community. EBay allows users to upload one picture to their item listing for free and then charges 15 cents per additional uploaded picture. EBay also offers discounted picture packages that allow as many as 12 picture uploads. Pictures are an essential part of an effective listing. 1
Take a picture of the item with your digital camera so you can upload and save it to your computer. Choose a location that is well-lit with artificial or natural lighting, with minimal shadows and reflections. Plain white or neutral backgrounds work best for item-listing pictures. Place an object such as a quarter or an apple next to your item in the picture to help bidders scale the size of the item.
-
2
Evaluate multiple pictures of the item taken from different sides and angles. You can always delete the pictures you do not want to use. Upload the pictures to your computer and save them in the JPEG file format on your desktop. You can verify that the picture is this format by right clicking on the picture on your desktop and selecting "Properties." In the "Properties" dialog box that opens, the "Type of file" text field should read "Jpeg image (.jpg)."

Add an additional picture using the image-upload tool as many times as you like. Additional pictures will be added at 15 cents per picture using eBay's image-hosting service. If you already have a host for your images, you can use the "Self hosting" tab at the top of the image-upload page to upload the rest of your pictures from the Web server on which they are hosted.

Check the box next to the "Gallery Plus" option if you would like to have the item's picture displayed next to the item in the search results. Using this feature will cost a one-time charge of 35 cents. Close out of the image-upload window by clicking the "Finished" button.

Describe your item in the text area provided on the "Create your listing" form. Choose your payment and shipping preferences and click the "Finish" button.
