How to Connect LimeWire Pro 4.18.6

LimeWire Pro 4.18.6 is a peer-to-peer file sharing program that enables you to search for and download media files via the Internet. These types of files include music, video, applications and images. In order to maintain a stable connection through LimeWire, you will need to make sure that you are connected to the Internet. The faster your Internet connection is, the easier it will be to download files in the shortest amount of time possible.

Instructions

1. Connect to the Internet before attempting to open the LimeWire program. If you are downloading anything else, wait until it has finished. It will also help the LimeWire connection if you close any unused programs to free up computer memory.

2. Double click the LimeWire Pro icon to launch the program. Allow time for the program to load and automatically connect. In this time, LimeWire Pro will also determine your Internet connection in order to assist with your downloading capabilities.

3. Check the connection bars in the bottom left-hand corner of the Limewire window. Once you have been properly connected, they will turn green. If they are red, you are not yet connected to the LimeWire server.

4. Move your mouse cursor over the green bars. LimeWire will tell you how strong your connection is. If the box is full of tall green bars, then you have the best possible connection. If you only have one small green bar, then you may need to reconnect.

5. Select "File" from the menu at the top of the LimeWire window. Choose "Disconnect" if you have a weak connection. Close the program and attempt to reconnect. Repeat this process until you have a strong connection with as many green bars as possible. If you are still having problems maintaining a stable connection, you might wish to obtain a faster Internet connection through your Internet Service Provider.
