How to Make Verizon USB Internet Faster
The Verizon's USB Internet connections are small, portable devices that allow you to roam with a laptop computer and access the Internet no matter your location (as long as you are in a mobile broadband coverage area). You may experience a varying connection speed, however, depending on several different factors. There are several ways to increase your Verizon USB Internet connection speed.

1
Connect the Verizon USB device to a USB 2.0 port on your computer. USB 2.0 provides a far faster connection than USB 1.1. If you are not sure what version of the port you have, click "Start," "Control Panel," "System," "Hardware" and finally "Device Manager." Scroll through the listing and look for an "Enhanced" USB connection. This means the USB ports on your computer are 2.0 instead of 1.1.

2
Clear out the cookies, cache and Internet history on your Internet browser. As this information begins to build up in the system, it slows down the Internet connection.

3
Move closer to a large city (if possible). Most major cities in the United States have an EVDO (Evolution Data Optimized) Rev mobile broadband connection. This gives you nearly double the connection speed of areas without the connection.
-
4
Upgrade your service package to include Verizon Wi-Fi hotpots. This gives you access to the hundreds of different Verizon Wireless hotspots around the country. When there isn't a mobile broadband connection nearby, there is more than likely going to be a Wi-Fi connection in the area.
