How to Make a Windows XP Bootable CD Using Roxio
Boot CDs are used when a particular operating system (such as Windows XP) is not performing correctly and you need to reset several features on the computer. Most computer systems do not come with a prefabricated bootable CD, so it is a good idea to craft one yourself, just in case your Windows XP does run into problems. You may create a bootable CD with a variety of different programs, including Roxio.
Instructions
-
-
1
Download the Windows XP installation package required for the boot CD (see Resources).
-
2
Insert the blank CD into the CD burner and close out any AutoPlay prompts that appear on your screen.
-
-
3
Launch Roxio (either double-click the desktop icon or select "Start," "All Programs" and click the Roxio Easy CD Creator tab).
-
4
Select "New CD Project," then choose "Bootable CD Project" (or "Bootable Disc," depending on the version of Roxio you are using).
-
5
Click "Browse," then choose the Windows XP installation package you downloaded.
-
6
Click "OK" and the bootable CD will be created with your Roxio software
