Homemade Salsas

Things You'll Need
- Colander
- Cutting board
- Knife
- Large mixing bowl
- 4 large ripe tomatoes
- Medium white onion
- Jalapeno pepper
- Yellow Bell Pepper
- Green Bell Pepper
- Garlic Clove
- 4 green onions
- 2 tomatillos
- Lime
- White vinegar
- Salt
- Pepper

Place all the vegetables in the colander and rinse them under cool water.

Dice the tomatoes, onion and tomatillos and place them in the mixing bowl. Dicing to 1-inch cubes is the ideal size for these ingredients.

Chop one quarter of each of the peppers into tiny pieces, about ½ inch square. Place them in the bowl.

Chop the green onions and garlic. Place them in the bowl.

Mix the ingredients together with a spoon.

Cut a lime in half. With the cut side up, squeeze the lime over the mixing bowl. This prevents seeds from slipping into the salsa. Squeeze both lime halves over the bowl.

Measure and pour one teaspoon of white vinegar into the bowl. Mix the ingredients together again with the spoon.

Salt and pepper the salsa to taste.

Refrigerate the salsa for three or more hours before serving.

Tips & Warnings
Make salsa even when tomatoes are out of season by substituting fresh with the canned variety.
