Troubleshooting Web Pages that Won't Load
At some point while browsing the Web, you're bound to come across a Web page that won't load. There are a number of different reasons this could occur. There could be a problem on your end or there could be a problem with the server hosting the page. Whatever the reason, a Web page being down can be inconvenient. There are several steps you can take to track down the source of the loading issue and, possibly, get to the Web page you wanted.

1
Check the URL you entered into the address bar and make sure everything is typed correctly. Even little mistakes, such as a missed forward slash or a semi-colon instead of a colon, can cause problems while trying to load a Web page.
-
2
Visit other websites to see if you can access those. If you're able to browse other pages on the Web, the page you're trying to visit may be down. This can be for a number of reasons--server maintenance or heavy traffic are a few examples.

3
Make sure you're connected to the Internet. If you notice that a Web page isn't loading and you discover that none of the Web pages you try to visit will load, the problem is likely on your end. If you are certain everything is configured correctly on your end, call your ISP and ask if there is an outage in your area.

4
Install a spyware scanning tool if you feel your connection is configured correctly and there is no reason your Web pages should not be loading. If this is the case, your system may be infected with spyware that has hijacked your Web browser. Scan your machine with applications such as Spybot Search and Destroy, Hijack This or Anti-Malware.
