Instructions

    • 1

Protect your Carhartt boots from stains and weather conditions by applying a leather protector available at the Carhartt website or at any store that sells leather boots. Do this before you wear them the first time. Often, the leather protector has a stain repellent built into it that will help you remove stains more efficiently. The leather protector will provide a barrier against dirt, moisture and grease.

Absorb most of any oil that gets on your boots immediately with a soft absorbent cloth or paper towels. It will be much easier to get rid of any remaining oil residue if you soak it up right away.

    • 3

Sprinkle a heavy application of white talcum powder onto the stained leather of your Carhartt boot. Allow it to set overnight or at least for several hours. The powder will absorb any remaining oil or grease spot on the boot.

    • 4

Dust the talcum powder off the boot the next morning or after several hour. If any powder remains in the seams of the boot, you can rub it off with a shoe brush or even an old toothbrush.
