How to Clean Venitian Blinds
Venetian blinds are found in most homes as a window covering. They offer privacy with the ability to peek out when times warrant. The blinds come in horizontal or vertical slats, with horizontal being the most common. Venetian blinds tend to attract and cling to dust, leaving the blinds with a dull appearance. Dusting the blinds with a feather duster helps to remove some dust, but cleaning the blinds thoroughly involves a more in-depth cleaning procedure. Does this Spark an idea?

Remove the venetian blinds from the windows before cleaning. Lift the blinds from their holders. You may need to unscrew the blinds from the brackets with a screwdriver if screwed in place.

Place the venetian blinds outside on a table or tarp. If you cannot take them outside to clean, lay down newspapers and place the blinds on top.

Spray a soft cloth with dust remover spray. Slide the cloth over each slat of the venetian blinds. When finished, turn the blinds over and clean the back side. Expose a new area of the dust cloth and respray it as you clean. Remove all dust from the blinds.

Place the venetian blinds back into their brackets and screw in place.

Tips & Warnings
Avoid using wet cloths or oily furniture polish to clean venetian blinds, as the water or oil can leave streaks behind on the slats.
