How to Remove Dried Latex Paint From Hair

Use baby oil to remove dried latex paint from your hair.

Latex paint is durable and available in a variety of colors and types, including semi-gloss, flat and matte finishes. If you spill the paint on a countertop, bench or other surface, it is easily wiped away with a damp paper towel or cloth. You don't need a special cleaner or towel to remove latex paint from most surfaces. When painting, accidents do happen including drops of latex paint getting in your hair. You can safely remove dried latex paint splatters and drops from your hair.

Things You'll Need

• Baby oil
• Comb
• Shower or sink
• Warm water
• Shampoo
• Conditioner
• Large towel
• Hair oil or leave-in conditioner (optional)

Instructions

1. Apply 1 tsp. of baby oil to each latex paint splatter you find in your hair. Comb the baby oil through the splatters gently with a comb.

2. Get into your shower or fill a sink with warm water. Rinse your hair with warm water.

3. Apply shampoo. Wash your hair thoroughly. If splatters of latex paint are still present in your hair, repeat Steps 1 through 3.

4. Apply conditioner. Rinse your hair with warm water. Dry your hair with a large towel.

Tips & Warnings

• Apply hair oil or a leave-in conditioner, if desired, to moisturize your hair and scalp.
