When you book a cruise through Celebrity Cruises, you will be required to pay a deposit, which confirms your space on the cruise and locks in the rate you will pay. Depending on the length and destination of the Celebrity cruise, you will have a specific date that the rest of your payment is due, usually 75 days before the sail date on cruises of six days or more. You can cancel your cruise and get your deposit refunded in full up until that payment date. Canceling within 75 days of sailing will come with penalties.

Cancellation Policy for 1 to 5 Night Cruises

You won't be charged anything to cancel a Celebrity Cruise that is 60 days or more from the sail date, provided the cruise is between one and five nights. Celebrity Cruises will give you a full refund of anything you have paid when you cancel this far in advance.

When you cancel between 59 and 43 days ahead of the sale date, you will lose your deposit amount. Any other money you have paid for the cruise will be refunded. So, if you paid a $100 deposit on a four-night cruise that totals $700, you will get $600 back because you will lose your deposit.

If you need to cancel 42 to 29 days before the cruise sets sail, you will be charged 50 percent of the total cruise price. So, if you paid $700, you will get $350 back.

Canceling 28 to 15 days before you sail will cost 75 percent of the total trip price. This means you would get only $175 back, and lose $525 on a $700 cruise.

You will not get anything back except for the taxes and fees you paid when you cancel 14 days or less from the sail date.

Cancellation Policy for Cruises 6 Nights or Longer

Celebrity Cruises will give you a full refund if you cancel on cruise that is six nights or more at least 75 days before your sail date. If you cancel between 74 and 57 days before your sail date, you will lose your deposit but the rest of your money will be refunded to you.

When you cancel 56 to 29 days before the cruise date, you will get 50 percent back. Therefore, if you paid $1,000 for a cruise that lasts eight nights, you will be refunded $500.

If you cancel 28 to 15 days before your sail date, you will receive a 25 percent refund. So, on a $1,000 cruise, you will lose $750 and get $250 back.

Canceling 14 days or less before your cruise means you will not get any money back except what you paid in taxes and fees.

Cruisetours, which are cruise and land tour combinations run by Celebrity Cruises, follow the same cancellation policy as cruises that are six nights or longer.

Cancellation Insurance

When you book a cruise with Celebrity Cruises, you will have the option to purchase vacation or cruise insurance. This is called the CruiseCare Cancellation Penalty Waiver, and it protects you against any charges or penalties if you need to cancel your cruise. You must cancel before departure, and depending on the cruise value and your preference, you can receive a cash refund or cruise credits toward another sailing in the future.

Considerations

Always talk to your travel agent or a cruise specialist at Celebrity Cruises about the cancellation terms before you book. While the Celebrity Cruises policies are accurate at the time of publication, they are always subject to change. Additional penalties or policies for specific cruises, such as those to the Galapagos Islands, may exist.

If you do need to cancel, call your travel agent or Celebrity Cruises directly at 1-800-437-3111.
