Open Internet Explorer and navigate to www.smartpctools.com/free_registry_cleaner/.

Click the yellow information bar at the top of the screen to install the RegScanner software. If you're presented with a security warning, click the "Install" button to proceed.

Click the "Scan" button at the bottom of the blank text field. The text field will fill with registry entries from your computer that have been detected as faulty or unnecessary.

Click the "Clean" button located to the right of the "Scan" button. The entries in the text area will change to reflect how each entry has been corrected.
