      Locate the contact information for each business you've worked for during the past 18 months. You'll need the business address and telephone number, as well as the dates you were employed. If you've had more than three employers within the last 18 months, or if one of your employers was out of state, you cannot file for Maryland unemployment online.

The department is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Maryland Unemployment Division recommends calling at the beginning or end of the day. If you have trouble connecting to a representative, keep trying. The division is sometimes hard to get through to.
