How to Convert .Wav to MP3 Files Using Windows Media Player

Microsoft Windows operating systems ship with and support the Windows Media Player multimedia player and library. The Windows Media Player plays audio and video media files. Using the Windows Media Player, audio files may be "ripped" from CDs or other audio sources, converted into different audio file types, and synchronized with various mobile devices. Windows Media Player will convert the WAV file type to the MP3 file type with just a few mouse clicks.

      Right-click on the WAV file to convert.

      Select "Open With" from the context menu.

      Select the "Windows Media Player" option from the fly-out menu. The WAV file will open in Windows Media Player and begin to play.
