How to Call From Malaysia to Hong Kong

Hong Kong's international dialing code is 852.

Anyone with a land-line phone or a mobile phone can call internationally from Malaysia to Hong Kong. Not all mobile phone plans include international calls. Check with your mobile phone provider to be sure your plan includes an international calling feature.

Instructions

Placing a Call from a Land-Line Phone

1. Pick up the phone and wait for a dial tone.

2. Dial "00-852" followed by the local number of the party you are trying to reach. Hong Kong's international dialing code is 852.

3. Purchase a calling card that covers Hong Kong if your land-line phone plan does not support international calling. Follow the prompts on the card to place the call.

4. Wait a few seconds after dialing the number for the call to go through and be placed. You should hear a ring tone after a few moments.

Placing a Call from a Mobile Phone

1. Press the appropriate button on your mobile phone to initiate a dial tone. Be sure that your mobile phone plan allows for international calls.

2. Dial "00-852" followed by the local number of the party you are trying to reach. Hong Kong's international dialing code is 852.

3. Purchase a calling card that covers Hong Kong, if your mobile phone plan does not support international calling. Follow the prompts on the card to place the call.

4. Wait a few seconds after dialing the number for the call to go through and be placed. You should hear a ring tone after a few moments.

Tips & Warnings

• If your land-line or mobile phone plan does not support international calls, a prepaid international phone card will allow you to make calls without having to change your plan. Be sure that the phone card covers Hong Kong before you buy it.
