How to Calculate Yearly Salary to Hourly Salary

Most people who work in an office are salaried rather than paid by the hour. In that case, you will have to manually figure out your hourly wage.

Calculating how much you get paid hourly can help you compare salaries if you are considering employment elsewhere, or if you want to know if your wages are fair compared to average compensation for positions at other companies. Or, you may just want to know how much you are being paid over a specific stretch of time. Calculating your hourly wage is easy if you know what your yearly salary is.

Instructions

1. Determine how many hours you work in an average week. For some people this is a set figure, such as 40 hours, but others will have to estimate if they work irregular shifts.

2. Multiply that figure by 52, which are the total amount of weeks in a year.

3. Take your yearly salary and divide it by that number you arrived at in Step 2. This will tell you how much you make per hour over the course of a year.
