Internet Explorer 7 is a Web browser that comes standard on some Microsoft-based computers. Those who use Internet Explorer 7 can set default email servers, change a home page, send Web pages to the printer and view the source files for Web pages. Internet Explorer 7 also is able to block websites. This is particularly advantageous for employers or parents who want to make sure that those in their stead do not access Web pages they should not see.

      Open "Internet Explorer" and click the "Tools" menu.

      Click "Internet Options" and select the "Content" tab.

      Click the "Enable" button under the "Content Advisor" section.

      Click the "Approved Sites" tab.

      Type an asterisk and then the Web address of the site you want to block in the text field. Include an asterisk before the site name. For example, if you wanted to block ESPN.com, you would type:

      "*.espn.com"

      Do not include the quotation marks.

      Click the "Never" button.

    • 7

      Repeat steps 5 and 6 as many times as needed.

      Click "Apply" and "OK." You now have blocked websites with IE7.
