How to Enlarge and Edit Pictures
If you want to enlarge and edit picture files on your computer, you need to look no farther than a program called "Paint," which has been a permanent part of the Windows operating system since Windows 3.1. This means Paint is installed on your computer so you don't have to download, purchase or install anything to get your digital image files looking exactly the way you want them.

Open "Paint" by selecting its icon in your Windows "Start" menu.

Click "File," followed by "Open" to open the digital picture file you would like to enlarge and edit.

Click the "Resize" button in the Paint toolbar to open the "Resize" dialog box. This will allow you to resize your image by dimensions if you have a specific set of dimensions or by percentages. Click "OK" to save your changes and resize your image.

Use the various buttons in the Paint toolbar to make edits to your images. You can use the "Line" and "Shapes" buttons to draw on your image and make additions to its content. You can use the "Select" button, coupled with the "Crop" button to crop excess portions of the image. You can use the "Colors" buttons to add colors to the images, and you can use the "Erase" button to erase specific parts of the image.

Click "File," followed by "Save" to save the changes you made.

Tips & Warnings
Microsoft Paint can enlarge and edit picture files saved in the BMP, JPEG, GIF, TIFF and PNG file formats. The steps outlined in this article will work on the Microsoft Windows Vista and Windows 7 versions of the Paint software. These steps also apply to the latest version of the Microsoft Windows XP Paint software. Older versions of Paint have all of the same features, the only exception is that instead of the main toolbar being at the top of the program window, it is located on the left side of the program window.
