Instructions

Powder Deodorant
-
1
Place a 1/2 cup of cornstarch and 1/2 cup of baking soda into a covered glass jar. The cornstarch is naturally moisture absorbent, and the baking soda neutralizes odor.
-
2
Shake the jar to mix the two ingredients together.
-
-
3
Add a few drops of antibacterial essential oils. Personalize the scent of the deodorant with your choice of oil and the amount you add to the mixture. Stir the mixture and cover.
-
4
Apply to your underarms with a damp natural sponge or cotton ball.
Spray Deodorant
-
5
Mix together 2 teaspoons of zinc-oxide powder and 2/3 cup of witch hazel extract. Witch hazel is a mild astringent, constricts pores and absorbs oil. Zinc-oxide will neutralize body odor.
-
6
Add in 2 tablespoons of liquid aloe vera. Aloe vera will add healing and moisturizing properties to the deodorant. It is also cooling.
-
7
Complete the mixture with 20 to 30 drops of essential oils. Personalize the mixture with the scent you like best. Many essential oils are antibacterial.
-
8
Pour into a dark spray glass bottle. Spritz your underarms as needed. Shake to thoroughly mix the ingredients prior to application.

Tips & Warnings
Arrowroot powder may be used in place of or in conjunction with cornstarch.
Experiment with ingredient measurements to get the right mixture for you and your body.
Personalize the scent by adding antibacterial essential oils such as tea tree oil, lavender, cinnamon or rose. If you have epilepsy or are pregnant discuss the use of essential oils with your doctor prior to application.
Baking soda may cause a rash on those with sensitive skin. Lower the proportion of baking soda and increase the amount of cornstarch to solve this problem.
